Cute little cafe, I've heard aloe about Japanese pancakes, and I would really agree that they are much fluffier and airier than American pancakes. They were really delicious, but 18 dollars isn't cheap for three pancakes...

Come here for the soufflé pancakes and drinks if you have an hour or more to kill. You will have to wait (outside) if they are full, but I got here early and was not expecting much. My matcha latte came first and was great. The pancakes took a long time to come out but it was amazing! We got Matcha, Original, and Earl Grey. I was expecting bland or undercooked soufflé pancakes, but they were tasty and cooked to perfection.

Very delicious pancakes!! Not overly sweet. The food takes a while to get cooked, but I understand Japanese Pancakes take time to get cooked. Totally worth it though! The place is small, so if it's packed you are gonna have to wait in line for a table

If you are a Japanese souffle pancakes lover, or you want to try different pancakes, you must visit Hanabusa Cafe. Soooo delicious pancakes - these pancakes melt in your mouth like cotton candles. We tried the original pancakes - so special. The place is very cozy and their staff were very friendly. You have to choose the right timing - it gets crowded so quickly. I strongly recommend trying these fluffy delicious pancakes.

This was a pleasant experience! While quite a bit of the menu wasn't available, (? really wanted some gyoza) what was available was very well done! I had the Taro pancakes, and i had no idea what to expect. If you are sensitive to eggs, this is not the place for you. The fluffiness of the cakes comes from whipped eggs. They also have seafood, smoothies, and DELICIOUS real fruit tea!

We got here 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line! Thankfully we got seated right after it opened! The decor of the place is so cute! My bf got the nutella pancake and I got the matcha pancake. Warning these pancakes take a while to come out. We also ordered strawberry sparkling for the drink. This drink was okay. You can't really taste the strawberry too much tbh. We ordered the 2 pancakes at the same time but my bf got his 10 minutes before I got mine. It took about 30-40 minutes to get our pancakesThe pancakes were super fluffy and delicious though! The fruit was so fresh! My only complaint is that I wish our food came out at the same time.

Phenomenal soufflée pancakes. Made with care and love. Ordered: original, custard, Nutella & earl grey & sea salt caramel. All delicious. Super jiggly. Highly recommend.

The first bite activated my tear ducts. It was that good of a flavor, and texture. I'd like to make an honorable note of the aesthetic to the restaurant. It is very clean, cute, and has that unique touch to it. It is located across the street from an amazing record shop, it's right off Michigan Ave, and near the amazing Bean. This place is perfect for a date, a sweet bite, and in between classes. The interior: Is bright, it has a pastel color pallet from the chairs, the walls, the decor, and even the food itself. The restroom is very clean, and even has a nice clean scent to it. The music they have playing in the restaurant is not too loud, and definitely feels right for the vibes. The service: Is amazing. The food is made to order, and brought to your table. The crew came around twice to make sure we enjoyed everything. And lo and behold, we did! The food: Was just phenomenal. The Gyoza was nice and hot, served with soy sauce, and had a good quantity of six. The Soufflé Pancakes were definitely worth the $16.00. From the way it would jiggle to the appearance, and to the taste brought me to the clouds. The drinks were absolutely delicious as well, the peach green tea is something you would crave on a hot summer day. The house milk tea would put you in a good mood, especially when topped with their cheese foam. Definitely give this place a try, I see myself being here in between my own classes every week.
